Programs During Treatment
New Diagnosis Baskets
Customized care packages delivered to newly diagnosed patients and their families to help meet basic needs and bring comfort during a critical time. Most families are admitted to the cancer unit after long hours in the emergency room and arrive at the cancer unit ill-prepared and lacking the most basic necessities from home. New diagnosis baskets include necessities such as deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, and more.

Holiday Shoppe
In December, we host a “shopping” day for our cancer families to prepare for the holiday season. Parents and caregivers are invited to “shop” for toys, games, dolls, clothing, and more completely free of charge. We provide snacks and activities for kids while their parents pick out presents.
We also provide support for hospitals when it comes to holiday decor and craft items for families inpatient during the holidays.

Weekly Wishlist
All hem-onc patients and their caregivers have the opportunity to request grocery or comfort items on a weekly basis. Our volunteers shop and deliver the requested items to their hospital room within 48 hours with B.I.G. Love covering the cost! This enables kids and their families to obtain essential groceries, supplies, and other items needed to make their extended hospital stay more bearable. We receive different requests every week such as toothbrushes, gatorade, pajamas, toys, makeup, or favorite snacks.
