Overnight Accommodations for Cancer Families

In December 2008, BIG Love Cancer Care purchased a 35’ Travel Trailer in order to provide housing for Texas Children’s Hospital bone marrow transplant patients. The Trailer is parked at Advanced RV Resort on Beltway 8 and Hwy.288 approximately 15-20 miles from the medical center. The Resort is a peaceful and very safe place for the families to stay during or after treatment. The Resort is surrounded by Tom Bass Regional Park which has several ponds and lakes. The RV Resort also has a pool, lounge, computer room and exercise facility available for families.

Because bone marrow transplant families are required to stay within 30 miles of the medical center for approximately 100 days, the B.I.G. Love Trailer perfectly meets their needs. Also, since many insurance companies do not pay for housing during treatment, B.I.G. Love provides the Trailer at no cost to the family.

Welcome Gift Bag
A Welcome Gift Bag is given to all cancer families upon arrival to the trailer. Items include: drinks, snacks, and special gifts for the patient.
