Forever Live

BIG Love’s Forever Live program was established in honor and in loving memory of our 17 year old son, Charles Garcia, who passed away from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on December 29, 2005. It is because of his great love, faith in God, and heart of compassion for cancer patients that Forever Live exists today.

Our vision for Forever Live grew, not only from our own personal journey with Charles, but from the overwhelming needs of the many families we met along the way. From the start, it became clear that God had an incredible purpose for Charles’s life. Each day, he challenged us by his genuine faith, unwavering hope, and his certainty in the promise of everlasting life. As our boy endured the storm, we realized that no matter what the circumstances of this life, and no matter what the outcome on this side of eternity, God is always present, and our children’s lives and memories will Forever Live in our hearts and minds.

Our compassionate Forever Live volunteers are committed to helping patients and families during their most critical cancer battles by offering:

  • Forever Live Baskets – This basket is filled with basic and necessary items to help make a lengthy hospital stay more bearable. Basket items include: Shampoo and conditioner, shower gel or soap, deodorant, bath scrubber, pedicure/manicure set, lotion, razors and shaving cream, lip balm, toothbrushes and cover/holder, hand soap, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, Q-tips, dental floss, box of tissues, thank you cards, pens, journal, book light, coffee mug, flavored powdered creamers, ear plugs, disposable camera, flexible drinking straws, Clorox disinfectant wipes, socks, large soft blanket or towel, food storage containers, small sewing kit, safety pins, snacks and drinks.
  • Parking Passes – Also, because of the high cost of parking at TCH, at $12 a day, we provide parking passes for families during extended stays.
  • Catered Meals – We also provide catered meals, delivered to the families’ room, or restaurant gift cards.
  • Photo Session – Englexas photography will come to TCH and take pictures of the cancer patient.
  • Weekly grocery or comfort items
  • Emotional and spiritual support
